Street
Street and documentary are my favourite styles of photography, and I can often be found pounding the streets of central London in search that elusive shot, that elusive light, that interesting subject. It’s a great city and if you are prepared to put in the time and walk the miles there are always opportunities. I particularly like the aesthetic around Bank, sharp suited city boys versus the strong shadows and the architechture of this part of the city. Street photography is not for everyone, especially if like me you are a more introverted person, however with time comes confidence. If I sense the person I have in my frame is maybe not so keen on my attention, I find approaching them and explaining why I may be including them in my image often defuses the situation and indeed they are sometimes flattered and receptive to being the subject. Of course the whole point of street photography is that it is candid and the person is unaware they are the in my shot, however this is not always possible. Here are a few of my favourite images from the streets both near and far.
